I hear you. you are right where the government wants you, but I won't get started on that rant.

With wanting to go back to school to be an RN you shouldn't be having any problems, but in today's world, it figures. Why don't we start with:

Sorry I can't help with money right now but maybe advice because my husband was in a car accident in 1990 when I was 35 years old and had a 2 year old child.  I know the feeling.  He spent along time in hospital and rehab and it wasn't for the Lord Jesus and people from church and community that God sent our way to help us we would have been in big trouble. 

My husband is still disabled from the accident but we have survived.  I sent my daughter to a private Christian School and somehow made a way to have three cars paid for and own a house.  We had to refinance our house many times and I had to work grave yard.  I worked at a women's shelter and restaurant and other jobs.  It will take hard work and sacrifice ( and support- find a good church and good friends and anyone with a sympathtic ear) My daughter is ready to start college and I have run into similiar problems as you have and she may not be able to go unless she gets loans and she got accepted in Calif. at a Christian University but she may not be able to go. By some miracle she will.
  We made extra money re-selling items we got free or cheap or stuff we just sold to make extra money ( even did a little E-Bay- but was not too sucessful) another thing we did before the accident is breed poms (pure bread dogs).  You have to be creative and try to keep your credit good- you said you were going bankrupt don't do it if you owe under $10,000. I may not have alot of training to get a good job- I mostly got minimum wages jobs plus tips and with God's help and common sense and a little sweat you can do it.  I even got a 501-C-3 to start a non-profit to help Homeless women and children since they have less then me.  I know every situation is different and we all want to be rescued and sometimes we do get money coming our way ( which did happen to us right after the accident we received about $12,000 from friends and church and people, state help and Social Security and Insurance Settlement of about $70,000 or less.) Pray and ask God for Wisdom. My husband only gets $1076.70 a month on Social Security, but somehow we survive.  I only want to tell you this not to make you angry and think I am being smug but to make you realize that you can take care of your family and you just need to be strong.  My husband used to run a plumbing business and made good money for that time (years ago) and I sometimes miss the travel and fun we had and I feel like the whole responsibility is on my shoulders.  We still have done some travel even after his accident but not as estravagant as we used to but God is good and joy is really inside in our heart and we can choose to be happy and stay close to God which is where our true joy comes from and is.  Hope this helps.( I also did foster care but because the State didn't want us to take some children to church or read the bible to them or get them baptized we stoped.)  P.S.   My husband was recently diagnosed with cancer and we have another challenge ahead but I know with God's help we will be ok.  We didn't even know how the hospital bills and Dr. bills were going to be paid but for now we have State Medically needy help and 75% off of certain bills at Immaging Dept. We might have to go bankrupt after this all if I owe too much and don't know how we will pay it back.  I can't even accept money from anyone as it will disqualify me from medicaid and I might even have to drop my income some which will make it impossible to pay alot of my bills for sure.
